Bianca Belair’s back! Now what?

WWE.com

Shayna Baszler wasn’t the only long-lost member of the women’s roster to return on the July 13 Raw.

When Bianca Belair teamed with Ruby Riott to defeat IIconics, it was her first action on the red brand since shortly after her WrestleMania call-up in April. The EST has been active on Main Event, going undefeated on that show against, well, folks like Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, and her partner last night, Ruby. Oh, and Catalina. Remember her? She was Carolina for a while last fall on Raw... but I’m getting sidetracked.

Point is, while it was great to see Belair, absolutely nothing about this seemed like anything more than a temp gig. IIconics are feuding with Riott and Liv Morgan, who are in the midst of a reunion angle. Morgan has been missing for a few weeks, likely quarantining after a well documented boat trip with Lana, Sonya Deville, and others. Ruby made it crystal clear on Twitter that her focus is on the storyline with Liv.

Bianca’s situation isn’t the same as Baszler’s.

The bad news is that Shayna’s appearance looked the start of something, while Belair’s looked like she was keeping a spot warm for someone else.

The good news is there haven’t been any reports of the powers-that-be not being behind The EST in the long run. Her’s really does seem to be a case of “creative has nothing for you” more than anything else.

Hopefully as more of the roster returns, they’ll find something for her to do.

Just don’t be shocked if the next place she wrestles is back on Main Event.
