New report details why Roman Reigns pulled out of WrestleMania, his replacement (SPOILER)

WWE.com

On Fri., Mar. 27’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided more background on Roman Reigns’ decision to pull out of his scheduled Universal title match at WrestleMania 36. He also revealed who will likely face Goldberg in Roman’s place (we’ll save that bit for the end of the post and give you another spoiler warning before discussing it).

As to why Reigns pulled out now despite being in Orlando and filming a segment promoting the match just last Friday, it’s apparently because The Miz is sick. Despite the company guidelines stating that no one who was ill would be at the Performance Center tapings, Miz was there. That upset The Usos, and Roman’s cousins’ unhappiness led to him deciding to not work ‘Mania.

Reigns’ 2018 - 2019 treatment for leukemia puts him at greater risk for contracting COVID-19 or other communicable diseases.

As for who will face Goldberg in his stead... here comes a SPOILER for tonight’s SmackDown and next weekend’s shows.

...

You’ve been warned.

...

In an angle which will play out on SmackDown tonight (Mar. 27), Braun Strowman will be replacing Reigns in the Universal title match.

Strowman hasn’t done much since losing the Intercontinental title to Sami Zayn and The Artist Collective at Elimination Chamber. He was recently the center of an internet controversy, but WWE doesn’t have to worry about audience reactions if they decide to give the Monster Among Men his first main event championship win. Most assumed Roman would take the belt from Goldberg since the 53 year old is a part-timer. But all bets are off under “the prevailing circumstances”.

Stay tuned...
