WrestleMania 36 results: Charlotte Flair wins the NXT women’s championship

The second night of WrestleMania 36 from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida kicked off the pay-per-view portion of the broadcast with Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair challenging Rhea Ripley for the NXT women’s championship.

Charlotte made it a story about taking the title off the future of the division in service of completing a circle in her own career. She achieved nearly everything already, now it’s time to circle back to the beignning.

Much of the match was spent with Flair working one of Ripley’s knees, setting up for the Figure Eight. They actually traded submissions as the match wore on, and turned into an epic battle of sorts where neither could put the other away.

Finally, Flair fully locked in the Figure Four, bridged up, made it the Figure Eight, and Ripley had no choice but to tap, selling her knee beautifully the entire way.

Charlotte Flair is your new NXT women’s champion, six years after she did it the first time.
