WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR APRIL 10

Like a river flowing to the sea, you’ll be miles away, and I will know. I know I can deal with the pain, and I’ll liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with Rey Mysterio making his entrance.

Commentary informs us that there have been travel issues and not everyone is here at the arena.

Rey gets on the mic and welcomes us to the show.

He says he has to pour his heart out, it’s been a crazy year for him, with a lot of ups and downs. Last week should have been a dream come true, going into the WWE Hall of Fame, and on top of that, to compete at the biggest WrestleMania of all time.

But instead he ended up facing his own son, and he really wanted things to be different.

Enter Dominik Mysterio.

He says Judgment Day are his real family and he’s moved on, and Mysterio the Elder says they’re useless idiots who are just using him. Dom says Rey is the selfish one here, because nothing else matters if he doesn’t get what he wants, and he claims he would have won at WrestleMania if it weren’t for Bad Bunny.

Rey is using him just like he used Dominik, but guess what happened? Mysterio the Younger calls for footage to roll of WrestleMania and the Raw after.

Dad says he talked to Bad Bunny and he’ll be back soon and make Dom regret those empty words. He says his son is a lost cause and asks him to step in the ring and have a WrestleMania rematch. but Dominik says he won’t fight his own father but he knows someone who will—

Enter Finn Balor, to send us to break.

Off the ropes, basement dropkick sets him up but Finn counters the 619 with a lariat! Jockeying for position in the turnbuckles, avalanche Frankensteiner... NOPE! Dropkick sets it up, 619 connects, off the top... KNEES UP ON THE FROG SPLASH BUT REY MYSTERIO WON’T STAY DOWN!

Finn Balor wins by pinfall with Coup de Grace.

Commentary tosses us to American Alpha footage from earlier.

Chad Gable talks about how Otis is hyped up and ready, and Maxxine Dupri rolls up to complain that Chad looks like a gremlin or something.

We head over to the sound of yelling and Lita is down and out. Adam Pearce helps her to her feet but she stumbles and he calls for a doctor. Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus roll up and Becky accuses Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, who are on the scene, of having attacked her on purpose.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a long recap of the Cody Rhodes saga and are informed that he’s doing well.

Paul Heyman is interviewed backstage.

He says he can provide insight into Brock Lesnar’s actions but he doesn’t actually provide any insight, choosing instead to talk about Kevin Owens’ match tonight against Solo Sikoa. Sami Zayn and Matt Riddle aren’t here tonight and he claims that it’s because they’re afraid of Solo.

He says KO is a one-legged man in an asskicking contest tonight and we go to break.

A recap of Triple H announcing the draft follows.

Dakota Kai and IYO SKY are backstage waiting for Bayley.

Bayley comes out and says she tried to get them a tag title match but Adam Pearce was preoccupied with the draft, so she made it clear they have to stay together. But he did give her a spot in a triple threat #1 contender’s match for Bianca Belair’s title, and when she wins she’ll have pull and—

IYO SKY cuts her off and speaks in Japanese, and Kai interprets, saying one of them deserves the shot. Bayley is startled but offers to go talk to Pearce and see about switching herself out for one of them.

The match goes to a double countout draw.

Big men keep brawling on the floor as Danilo tries to separate them, more referees and road agents pour down to keep them apart!

We see Cody Rhodes walking backstage and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Cody Rhodes makes his entrance.

He says he usually asks what folks want to talk about and he also almost always has a singular focus, from Seth Rollins to WrestleMania and finishing the story. It’s a bit cloudy so he wants to unzip this dress and navigate the fog together.

At WrestleMania 39, under the brightest lights in the main event, he lost to the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, in a polarizing moment in WWE history. He would like the blame to be put squarely on him, he lost and he did not calculate nor adjust for the lengths Roman would go to.

He lost, and he’s sorry.

His dear friend Matt told him two things— being in the main event is a win in and of itself, and do wins and losses even matter? Absolutely they do, what’s the point in stealing the show if you don’t win the prize? It’s legends and hall of famers who have told their stories that say this.

The other thing he heard traveled to his ears from Mr. Heyman, which is that if Cody is to ever challenge for the title ever again, he’s got to earn it. Earn it? That refutes, dismisses not just his whole career but his whole life? Earn it? HE IS IT!

And now the unfinished tale has a whole new ring to it, in the form of Brock Lesnar. What’s more embarrassing than lying in defeat two feet away from a rubber chicken is coming to work the next day looking for retribution, being refused that, you offer your innocence to the Beast and he repays it in destruction.

Somebody tell him why Brock Lesnar did what he did. He heard Brock was unhappy with his spot at WrestleMania, and that he can almost understand, but he has a theory that Lesnar is uncertain about him, uncertain about the hype for the American Nightmare, the change he brings that directly will affect him.

Why else would Brock wait until his back was turned? If you’re Brock Lesnar, and he knows why he’s listening, why would you ever be uncertain? When Lesnar looks in the mirror he sees a predator, a former folkstyle NCAA champion, a former UFC champion, a former undisputed WWE Champion.

He looks at us and he sees victims. John Cena? Victim. Randy Couture? Victim. The Undertaker and his streak? Victim. Is that what Brock saw when he looked at Cody? So go ahead, ask and he’ll be honest, is he scared of Brock Lesnar? Yes. But when he breathes he’s gonna strike, when he stumbles, he’ll pounce, so that when Brock looks in the mirror he sees prey for the first time.

For the first time he sees a victim, his victim. So it can be anywhere, any time, any place, but he knows Brock Lesnar isn’t here tonight, so he’ll issue the challenge for WrestleMania Backlash.

The Usos make their entrance.

Back from commercial we get a hype reel for Logan Paul re-signing.

American Alpha (Chad Gable & Otis Dozovic) vs. the Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso)

Otis and Jey to start, circling, collar and elbow, Uso gets away. Jey wants a sunset flip, Dozer blocks and gets the ropes for a little pelvic action before tagging Gable in. Jimmy in also, Chad with a diving lariat, running roughshod but a tag to Jey and a Demolition Decapitation turn the tide and sends us to break.

Back from commercial, tags made, Otis in hot with lariats! Off the ropes, double northern lariat, he gets Uso into position and tears his shirt off... CATERPILLAR! Tag to Gable, up top, Ode to the Bulldogs... JEY BREAKS IT UP WITH A SUPERKICK! Dive on Otis, Jimmy follows it up, Gable off the top, diving headbutt... USO KICKS OUT!

Back and forth, Chaos Theory but Jey tags in, Superkick Party! Off the ropes...

The Usos win by pinfall with 1D on Chad Gable.

IYO SKY makes her entrance, flanked by Bayley and Dakota Kai, and we go to break.

IYO SKY vs. “Michin” Mia Yim vs. Piper Niven (WWE Raw Women’s Championship #1 Contender’s Match)

Yim and Niven fighting while SKY goes up top and waits for her opening, taking Piper out with a missile dropkick! Off the ropes, arm drags from Mia set up a flapjack! Whip across, Michin dives on Niven, IYO off the apron with a moonsault that wipes ‘em both out and sends us to break!

Back from commercial, SKY with a sleeper hold on Niven, countered with a snapmare onto Yim! Piper off the ropes, freight train crossbody for two! Up in the turnbuckles, Mia pulls IYO down and goes up top whereupon Niven cuts her off! SKY leapfrogs her into a Frankensteiner on Michin!

Fired up, Shotei sets up a springboard dropkick for two but Mia cuts the cover off with a buzzsaw roundhouse kick! Fired up, Yim with chest kicks, crescent kick, Dragon suplex connects! Big Rock Bottom takes IYO out, dropkick into the cover, Piper breaks it up with an elbow drop to SKY!

Yoshi Tonic from Michin but Piper kicks out! Sole Food connects, Yim off the top to break the cover up...

IYO SKY wins by pinfall with the diving moonsault on Mia Yim to become the #1 contender to the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews Kevin Owens.

He says he’s not a wise person and he’s got street smarts but he leads with his emotions and tonight his heart tells him he has to beat the hell out of Solo Sikoa for what he did on Friday night, and since Sami Zayn and Matt Riddle aren’t here tonight he’s the only one who can do it.

His knee isn’t 100%, but all he cares about is getting revenge, and he’s Kevin Owens, and he just keeps fighting.

Solo Sikoa makes his entrance flanked by the Usos to send us to break.

Kevin Owens vs. Solo Sikoa

Sikoa right in with kicks to the knee, Owens fights back with punches but all it takes is one kick to crumple KO! Down in the corner, Solo picks the leg and smashes it into the mat! Stomps to the ankle and knee, action to the floor, Kev whips Sikoa hard into the steel steps!

Big senton, cover for two! Spinning Solo blocked but again Sikoa goes after the injured knee! Ode to Rikishi connects and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Owens manages to snap off a DDT! Trading punches, a superkick puts Sikoa down and out but KO’s leg gives out as he charges in for the cannonball! Solo capitalizes... OWENS KICKS OUT! Up top, jockeying for position, Kev off the top... SIKOA KICKS OUT OF THE FROG SPLASH!

Samoan Drop, Solo goes up top to capitalize but Kev runs the ropes to cut him off! His leg gives out but Sikoa is winded and KO slowly rises and lands an enzuigiri! Up top with him, jockeying for position, Kev gets under him and hits a military press slam! Owens up top, Usos running interference, he fends Jimmy off but the moment is lost!

Snapping Sikoa’s head over the top rope, superkick for Jey, back up top... SENTON ATOMICO ISN’T ENOUGH TO PUT THE ENFORCER AWAY! Off the ropes, boot up but the pop-up powerbomb connects! Solo blocks the Stunner, Jey with a superkick from the floor, Solo with another one of his own...

Solo Sikoa wins by pinfall with the Samoan Spike.

Post-match the Bloodline put boots to Owens—

SAMI ZAYN AND MATT RIDDLE HAVE ARRIVED AT THE ARENA TO MAKE THE SAVE! THEY COME RUNNING DOWN TO RINGSIDE AND BRAWL WITH THE USOS! Taking them out, they beat Solo up two on one and send him packing to the floor! Owens hits a Stunner on Jimmy but Sikoa pulls Jey out of the way of a Helluva Kick!

The Bloodline retreat.

That’s the show, folks.
