WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR FEB. 27

I wandered far onto the lonely moors, sparse coarse tufts of grass reached out to trip me and above my head the leaden clouds hung low as I turned my face towards the TV to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with commentary hyping the card up while Becky Lynch and Lita walk together backstage.

We get a recap of the continuing saga of the Usos.

Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa make their entrance and Jimmy gets on the mic, telling Grand Rapids that the Bloodline is here. He acknowledges that it must look like the Bloodline are having problems, but if you have family you know family fights all the time.

He says if you come for one member of the Bloodline, you come for all the members of the Bloodline and asks the crowd if they think Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, or Cody Rhodes got one over on the Bloodline. Roman Reigns will be on SmackDown on Friday, but tonight he and Solo are here to remind everyone who runs Raw.

Enter the Street Profits.

They get on the mic and act exaggeratedly excited to see the Bloodline but are confused as to where Jey is before coming to the conclusion they’d get tired of being the glue of the Bloodline themselves. They bicker some and the Profits remember that they want the smoke and attack the Bloodline!

They run the Bloodline out of the ring and we go to break.

Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) vs. the Bloodline (Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa)

Dawkins and Uso to start, fighting in the corner but Jimmy sidesteps the spinning Stinger Splash and tags Sikoa in. Angelo manages to handspring over Solo into a dropkick and tags Ford in! Double dropkick, but Sikoa gets Montez into the corner and the Bloodline work him over.

Another tag, now Jimmy’s isolated, big enzuigiri sets up Drill Bit but Uso slips out and lands a forearm to set up a side headlock! Grounding Dawkins, we go to break.

Back from commercial, Sikoa keeps bringing it to Dawkins, beating him down in the corner. Both men down and out, tags made, Ford in hot on Uso! Jabs and a lariat, big uppercut, kick blocked, backflip evasion sets up a back suplex and Montez kips up! Standing moonsault... NOPE!

Ford lays him out with a kick, up top, Jimmy cuts him off and follows it up with an enzuigiri. Up top, jockeying for position, big diving crossbody... SO CLOSE! Blind tag, Montez clears Solo off the apron, thrust spinebuster, tag made, Sikoa shoves Ford off the top and hits a superkick on Dawkins...

The Bloodline win by pinfall with a Samoan Spike from Solo Sikoa on Angelo Dawkins.

Post-match, the Bloodline keep beating the Profits down and Solo goes and gets a steel chair! They horsecollar Montez, Jimmy keeps Dawkins on the back foot... KEVIN OWENS OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A SUPERKICK TO SAVE FORD! STUNNER ON USO!

We get a recap of Montel Vontavious Porter and Omos challenging Brock Lesnar for a WrestleMania match from last week, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Brock Lesnar makes his entrance and takes a seat on the set of the VIP Lounge.

A slightly nonplussed MVP makes his entrance cautiously and gets on the mic from the ramp.

He says when he invited Mr. Lesnar to accept the challenge, this isn’t how he envisioned it. Brock apologizes for being a little early and invites Porter to join him, but Montel’s happy to keep his distance. Brock says he’s here on business and to listen to MVP sell these people, the people at home, and Brock Lesnar a fight.

Montel says he doesn’t want to go to Suplex City and Lesnar promises no suplexes tonight, so MVP relents and slides in the ring and has a seat in his own lounge. Montel begins his pitch, talking up how when Brock Lesnar hits a man with the F-5, he’s done for, but he had his hands full with Bobby Lashley even without MVP in his corner.

Porter scoffs at the idea that Brock could have his way with the Nigerian Giant. A man you can do whatever you want to, but put hands on a giant and his hands go back on you. So the issue here is that the Beast can destroy any man, but a giant will subdue and conquer a beast.

Bottom line, you can suplex and F-5 any man you like, but you can’t do that to Omos.

Brock has goosebumps and offers MVP a high five, that he accepts, and Lesnar accepts the challenge and wants to shake on it and drink on it. Porter’s down for a handshake and a toast, and Brock gives his own introduction for the match. They shake hands and Montel goes over to pop a bottle but Lesnar stops him.

He’s just a farmer and he grows the good stuff, and he wants to have a toast using his own moonshine out of a flask he keeps in his vest pocket! He takes a deep sip and offers the flask to MVP, but Montel would rather toast with the champagne. Lesnar shoves the flask at him and Porter’s tune changes but he asks to clarify the contents.

Brock confirms that they call it white lightning where he comes from, and Porter takes a swig, makes a face, and can’t handle it so he spits it out in Lesnar’s face! MVP begs off while Brock wipes his eyes, and hands him his pocket square to dry off with.

Lesnar tucks it back in the pocket... F-5!

Lita and Becky Lynch are interviewed backstage.

Lita says some of her favorite career highlights have been alongside legendary tag teams, so to walk out tonight as tag champs would be a true bucket list check for her. She’s been making history for two decades and she’s not done yet. Lynch admits she’s always kinda wanted to win the tag titles but doesn’t play well with others, but there’s nobody in this business she respects more than Lita, so they’re gonna win the tag titles.

We see Cody Rhodes walking backstage and we go to break.

Chad Gable vs. Cody Rhodes

Circling, Rhodes goes for a leg pick but Gable gets away. Drop toehold works on the second try, reversed to a front chancery, Cody turns that into a fireman’s carry and takes Chad into the corner. Gable breaks dirty with a right hook, whip to the corner, up and over into a sunset flip, only two!

Chad grabs an ankle lock, Rhodes flips him into the corner but runs right into a boot! Up top, Cody cuts him off, jockeying for position... INVERTED SUPERPLEX SENDS US TO BREAK!

Back from commercial, Gable trips Rhodes leg-first into the corner and capitalizes on the injured leg! Up top, diving headbutt... NOBODY HOME! Chad cracks off a right hand but Cody is able to cut him off, drop down slap, up and over, leg hurting bad but he bends to pick a snap scoop powerslam!

Beautiful Disaster connects... SO CLOSE! Figure four leglock applied in the middle of the ring, Gable trying to roll him over or to stretch for the ropes, desperate slap gets a hand on the ropes! Chad catches Rhodes into a bridging German suplex for two, Cody up and over, backslide denied, up in crucifix position... CLIFFHANGER DDT!

Gable off the top with the moonsault... CODY RHODES WON’T STAY DOWN! Chops in the corner, Rhodes turns him around and throws his own, going back and forth, Cody throws Chad out of the ring with a hip toss! Off the ropes.... CODY RHODES WITH THE SUICIDE DIVE!

Cody and Otis get into it, Rhodes dumps Dozovic into the crowd, back in the ring for the Cody Cutter! Inverted headlock...

Cody Rhodes wins by pinfall with Cross Rhodes.

Post-match, Cody gets on the mic and says we’re 33 days away from WrestleMania and he has yet to stand in the same ring as his opponent, our undisputed champion Roman Reigns.

But he’s on SmackDown this Friday and Cody is ecstatic because he’ll be there too.

Baron Corbin is interviewed backstage.

He has a message for the WWE Universe, it’s no secret that things haven’t been going his way and people have been saying everything JBL told him was true and— Byron Saxton has to cut the interview short.

He goes over to talk to Kevin Owens about consequences for attacking the Bloodline, and he says it’s the Bloodline who are suffering the consequences of their actions, and he’s said it for months— he won’t stop until he gets what he wants, which is for the Bloodline to fall, and he doesn’t want or need any help to do that.

We get a WrestleMania Goes Hollywood parody of Titanic starring Montez Ford and Bianca Belair to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Judgment Day cut a promo backstage.

Dominik Mysterio talks about his “family reunion” with his father last week and calls him pathetic and says he showed the world that Rey is exactly as pathetic a coward he is, and he’ll show him again because he’s gonna be on SmackDown again and he’ll be in ex-con Dom’s prison.

Rhea Ripley says Charlotte Flair can’t escape her fate, which is to lose to her at WrestleMania. Finn Balor says his feud with Edge isn’t over, it’ll be over when he says it’s over, and it’ll be over at WrestleMania.

Otis Dozovic is pacing outside of the trainer’s room when Maximum Male Models roll up and Maxxine Dupri says they should be in his corner if he has a match tonight. Otis says he can make that happen and goes and looks for Adam Pearce to book a match.

Asuka makes her entrance and we go to break.

Asuka vs. Carmella

Collar and elbow, Carmella into the ropes but Asuka turns her around and beats her down! Rolling solebutt, knee lifts, axe kick, Mella cuts her down and takes her into the corner, jawing at her and hammering her with repeated back elbows! Cover for two, drawing Asuka up but she rebounds her off the ropes and catches her with the alarm clock!

Outside, Carmella running away, back in and the Empress nails her with a kick but a low bridge sends her to the floor and Mella follows it with a basement superkick and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Carmella grinding Asuka down with a reverse chinlock, the Empress to her feet and fighting out with elbows. Mella jawing at her, piefacing her, Asuka getting fired up, landing a huge uraken into the strike rush! Reverse roundhouse takes her down, release German suplex sets up a buzzsaw roundhouse kick!

Sliding knee off the apron, up top, missile dropkick sidestepped, basement superkick... NOPE! Cover, Code of Silence follows it up, Asuka reverses...

Asuka wins by submission with the Ode to Jim Breaks.

Post-match, Asuka cuts a brief promo in Japanese before calling Bianca Belair down to the ring.

Bianca says she better just be calling her down to say they’re gonna tear the house down, because you can’t spell WrestleMania without the EST. Carmella attacks them and shoves Asuka into Belair and leaves shouting about how she’s the best.

Piper Niven makes her entrance and we go to break.

Candice LeRae vs. Piper Niven

Nikki Cross follows Candice LeRae to the ring, to the gentle confusion of everyone.

LeRae charges in and Niven body blocks her to the mat! Big right hand slap, choking her in the ropes, scoop lift, Candice floats over, leg kick, off the ropes, crucifix denied, sunset flip blocked, she rolls away from the Banzai Drop and hits a blockbuster for a nearfall!

Charging in, Piper with a big Rock Bottom and a senton follows... NOPE! Cobra Clutch applied, LeRae fading, Niven shoves her into the turnbuckle and charges right into a back elbow! Drop toehold into the turnbuckles, Candice crashes to the floor! Piper throws her back inside and biels Cross into the barricade!

Back inside, LeRae thinks fast...

Candice LeRae wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin.

Backstage, Johnny Gargano is interviewed.

He’s very proud of Candice and he has a match of his own later. He sat down in the locker room and Otis ran in asking him for some hot action tonight. He was alarmed initially but he realized he just wanted a match and he accepts the challenge.

Judgment Day roll up to scoff at Byron Saxton interviewing Johnny.

Gargano says Byron’s just tired of interviewing adults who are going through a goth phase, Damian Priest points out that he took him out of Elimination Chamber, and Finn Balor says if Otis Dozovic doesn’t cover Johnny in maple syrup and eat him up, he will next week.

Johnny is weirdly into it.

The Miz makes his entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Miz welcomes us to MizTV.

But before his guest he wants to talk about the anniversary gift his beautiful wife Maryse gave him. To help him announce this highlight-worthy news, he wants to bring his special guest, also the host of WrestleMania... the Miz.

He’s tonight’s guest, and the host of MizTV, and the host of WrestleMania. It’ll be bigger than the Oscars, and if you thought Will Smith slapping Chris Rock was a big deal, wait until you see what he’s got in store for WrestleMania! Who else could host WrestleMania, Logan Paul?

It’s WrestleMania Goes Hollywood, not WrestleMania Goes YouTube, and he hypes up some of the matches on the card.

Enter Seth Rollins.

The crowd sings along to his theme and Miz tries and fails to shut them up by putting his hand up.

Seth says he’s just here to congratulate Miz, not rain on his parade, and Miz is doubtful. Rollins says he stomped him with his big red boots because he was being a bit of a jerk, and then last week he had to stomp him three times because he was, let’s face it, being a bit of a b-hole.

Miz says he’s not a b-type person, he’s an a-type person, and Seth asks if that means he’s an a-hole, and the A-Lister goes apoplectic about being goaded into calling himself an asshole. Seth promises him he didn’t mean to ruin his moment, he just has a favor to ask.

He’s been trying to get ahold of Logan Paul and he figures since Miz taught him everything he knows he’s gotta have him on speed dial so why not give him a call? The A-Lister turns him down, telling him Logan is his problem and not his, because he’s the celebrity and Seth is just a goofball in a stupid jacket.

Rollins lays him out with a superkick!

Seth picks up his phone and unlocks it with Miz’s eye, sitting down in a chair to look for Logan in the A-Lister’s contacts. He makes the call and it rings! Logan picks up and tells Miz to stop calling him.

Rollins laughs and mock apologizes, saying he just wanted to call and see how Jake Paul is doing after his tough day yesterday, and says he has a proposition for him. We’re all sick of the cat and mouse, so grow a set and go face-to-face with Seth Rollins next week!

Logan accepts and says he’ll love to see Seth try to run his mouth face-to-face.

Seth goes to leave and sees Miz starting to get up, so he can’t help himself... BLACKOUT!

Damage CTRL are interviewed backstage.

Bayley says they’ve been around the world defending the titles and they’re not gonna lose them because they’re their legacy.

Austin Theory rolls up to demand an interview since he’s the greatest champion in WWE.

He’s shocked he’s not being talked about, and everybody’s talking about John Cena instead. Cena comes back next week, and everybody likes the hustle, loyalty, and respect, but he hustled in the chamber, he’s loyal to the title to the point of defending it immediately after Elimination Chamber against a legend like Edge, and then there’s the respect.

He respects John Cena and he’s gonna give him the respect he deserves next week, and he better get that same respect back.

Bobby Lashley makes his entrance and we go to break.

Bobby Lashley vs. Elias

Elias right in with strikes in the corner, Lashley with a back elbow and a body slam, action to the floor while Rick Boogs watches. The Drifter manages to drop Bob face-first across the barricade and follows it with a high knee! Back inside, Lashley reverses a lariat into the reverse STO, off the ropes for the spear! Grabbing Elias up...

Bobby Lashley wins by submission with the Hurt Lock.

Post-match, Bob gets on the mic and says he’s not in a good mood right now.

He owned Brock Lesnar at the Elimination Chamber, but instead of tapping to the Hurt Lock, Lesnar resorted to a low blow. He won the match, but he wants more, and for proving his dominance over Brock, he gets Bray Wyatt playing his little kid games.

Lashley doesn’t play little kid games, because he’s the All Mighty Bobby Lashley, so he tells Bray to keep his name out of his mouth or he will hurt him.

As he goes to exit, Bray appears on the tron with a new remix of the Muscle Man Dance featuring footage of Lashley.

The video cuts off with static and a very serious Wyatt telling Bob to run.

Chelsea Green is backstage yelling at Adam Pearce about how she, a Canadian, is supposed to know there’s an Ottawa in Canada.

Carmella rolls up to yell at him, he makes her a match against Bianca Belair next week and leaves to take a phone call.

They chat and seem to be hitting it off.

Otis Dozovic makes his entrance flanked by Maximum Male Models to send us to break.

Johnny Gargano vs. Otis Dozovic

Dozovic in control early, smashing Gargano in the corner, back elbow backs him off and Johnny passes him hard into the post! Trading shots, dropkicks stagger the big man, superkick sends him flying out of the ring! Otis drops Gargano face-first into the announce desk and flexes for Maxxine Dupri!

Mace grabs Johnny but Dexter Lumis is in the crowd to drag him away! Gargano with a superkick to Mansoor, gamengiri from the apron sets up One Final Beat into the apron! Slingshot the other way...

Johnny Gargano wins by pinfall with One Final Beat.

We get a recap of Cody Rhodes’ promo from earlier tonight.

Paul Heyman is interviewed backstage.

He says he loves the way WrestleMania season ratchets up the tension every week and claims Cody said he was gonna confront Roman, which the interviewer corrects him on. But no, Heyman says, Rhodes won’t just show up, he’s going to invade the Island of Relevancy, and either he’ll confront the Tribal Chief or he will be confronted by him.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we see Becky Lynch and Lita warming up for their match tonight, and then to the equal and opposite view with Damage CTRL.

A recap of the VIP Lounge follows and commentary hypes up upcoming cards.

Becky Lynch and Lita make their entrances and we go to break.

Becky Lynch & Lita vs. Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & IYO SKY) (c) (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship)

Lynch and SKY to start, Becky with a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, IYO runs away and tags Kai in and Lita comes in as well! Circling, collar and elbow, side headlock, shot off, shoulder block! Front chancery, Twist of Fate blocked, tag to SKY! Front kick sets her up, tag to Becky, double suplex!

Off the ropes, double hip tosses for both champions, stereo Stinger Splashes follow! Stack ‘em up, and a little Poetry in Motion! Stereo mounted punches, big crossbody takes the champs out and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Lynch hits a guillotine leg drop on Kai! SKY runs in, double DDT, cover... NOPE! Diamond Dust out of the corner, only two! Thinking about Dis-Arm-Her but she can’t quite get all of it and IYO makes the save with a running knee!

To the floor, IYO smashes Lita’s face into the announce desk and then takes Becky out with an Asai Moonsault! Back in the ring, cutthroat choke on The Man, running dropkick follows! Dakota tags in, Scorpion Kick clobbers Becky but can’t keep her down! Becky reaching out for the tag, denied, back elbow in the corner!

Double lariat, both women down and looking for tags! Bayley with a cheap shot on Lita, legal IYO with a Shotei, double back suplex on Lynch... STILL NO!

TRISH STRATUS IS HERE TO EVEN THE ODDS! LOU THESZ PRESS INTO MOUNTED PUNCHES ON BAYLEY! Tags made, Lita with lariats for SKY, whip reversed, satellite tijeras! Snapmare driver connects... NOT ENOUGH! Lita goes up top, IYO cuts her off and springs up top for her own moonsault... NOBODY HOME!

Twist of Fate connects and Lita goes up top, Bayley runs interference, Trish cuts her off and lays her out with the Chick Kick! Dakota runs over, Becky cuts her off, Dis-Arm-Her on the apron! Lita off the top...

Becky Lynch & Lita win by pinfall with the moonsault from Lita on IYO SKY, becoming your new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

The new champs celebrate with Trish Stratus as pyro goes off.

That’s the show, folks.
