WWE Monday Night Raw comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Mar. 27, 2023) from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, featuring all the latest build to the upcoming WrestleMania 39 extravaganza scheduled for this coming Sat., April 1 and Sun., April 2 in Inglewood, California.
Advertised for tonight: Cody Rhodes will take on Solo Sikoa in a singles match, Brock Lesnar and Omos get together to do a weigh-in ahead of their heavyweight clash at WrestleMania, a special edition of “Miz TV” with guests Trish Stratus, Lita, and Becky Lynch, Braun Strowman & Ricochet & The Street Profits vs. Alpha Academy & The Viking Raiders in a “WrestleMania Showcase” match preview, and more!

WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR MAR. 27
Ever since you were born you’ve been dying. Every day a little more you’ve been dying, dying to reach the setting sun, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with the Miz making his entrance and welcoming us to MizTV.
He greets the crowd and hypes up WrestleMania before introducing his guests— Becky Lynch, Lita, and Trish Stratus.
He asks Becky Lynch what it felt like to not be able to get the job done and to need to call in reinforcements. She calls him insecure with tiny balls because (sigh) and they go back and forth about it. Lynch runs down all her issues with Damage CTRL to justify herself.
Miz asks Lita and Trish why come back now just to play backup to Becky, and Lita takes point. She says she doesn’t really feel like backup, she feels like one half of the tag team champions, but she does know she’s felt the best—
Enter Damage CTRL.
Bayley says she’s sick of the babyfaces acting like it’s just another match when this match means everything to them, and she accuses Lita and Trish of having meant nothing in twenty years. Stratus says the title means something and Bayley says at one time this would have been a real dream match for her.
But now it’s a different kind of dream, and now her dream is to take out the top woman of this division and two Hall of Famers in one night. Lynch asks then what and accuses her of doing nothing and wasting her associates as her lackeys, and says it’ll only end at WrestleMania.
And so we go to break.
Becky Lynch vs. IYO SKY
Lynch in control early, exploder suplexes, SKY choking her in the corner, slingshot Meteora, cover for two! Monkey flip, dropkick, trading vicious forearms in the middle of the ring, off the ropes and IYO rocks her with a Shotei! Becky with a flying shoulder block and both women are down and out!
Boot up in the corner, Becky with lariats, a leg lariat, baseball slide connects! Back inside, off the top, nobody home, roll through, SKY blocks a suplex but Lynch connects with an inverted DDT for two! Manhandle countered, roll through into a double stomp for a nearfall and we go to break!
Back from commercial, Lynch with a superplex... NOT ENOUGH! Both women down and out, SKY with rolling German suplexes into the bridge... BECKY KICKS OUT! Underhooks, blocked, exploder suplex conhnects, Lynch goes up top and IYO knocks her down to the floor! Asai Moonsault connects clean, throwing Becky back inside, cover... STILL NO!
Up top, diving moonsault misses, Dis-Arm-Her blocked, trading pins to no avail, Lynch gets her up...
Becky Lynch wins by pinfall with the Manhandle Slam.
We get a recap of the Cody Rhodes/Bloodline stuff from last Monday.
We see the Bloodline, sans Roman Reigns, walking backstage to send us to break.
Back from commercial, we get an Asuka hype reel.
A recap of last week’s brawl betweem Seth Rollins and Logan Paul follows.
Seth is interviewed backstage.
Before he can say anything, Mustafa Ali appears to say that Seth doesn’t have anything nice to say, so he’s not gonna say anything. Rollins glares at him and Ali says he’s trying to help him see the positive in getting knocked out. He tells Seth he should be grateful and he should think more postive-Ali.
Rollins has a good laugh about the catchphrase and says Mustafa deserves a prize and sets up a match between them tonight, and so we go to break.
Mustafa Ali vs. Seth Rollins
Ali to the apron, back in with a right hand, jawing at Rollins about how from Logan Paul that would have been a knockout blow! Off the ropes, ducking lariats, Seth catches him with a big one! Hanging Mustafa in the ropes, rolling elbow puts him in the Tree of Woe... INVERTED BLACKOUT OUT OF THE TREE OF WOE!
Ali down and out, Seth charges in...
Seth Rollins wins by pinfall with Blackout.
Rollins gets on the mic after the match, saying in five nights at WrestleMania night one, he’ll finally get his hands on Logan Paul. Paul has a history of making a joke out of himself, and he’ll level with us— if he can’t beat Logan at WrestleMania, he’s not the joke, Rollins is.
Paul’s cheap-shotted him twice, and in five days it all comes back around. A little birdy told him that April 1 happens to be ol’ Logan Paul’s birthday, and at WrestleMania they’ll be serenading Logan all night long with Seth’s theme song.
We get footage from earlier of Baron Corbin whining to Adam Pearce about not having a match at WrestleMania.
Chelsea Green rolls up to ask for a moment to break her foot off in Pearce’s behind. Adam tells Baron he’s got a spot in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in Memory of Andre the Giant. Chelsea demands to know why she doesn’t have a spot in the WrestleMania Showcase four-way tag.
Pearce says she doesn’t have a tag partner and Sonya Deville rolls up to join her in hectoring Adam. He says they can call themselves the Complaint Deparment or Misery Loves Company or whatever, but they have a tag match to earn a spot in the Showcase tonight.
Corbin is still there to whine some more but five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce ignores him and walks off.
After the break, we’ll have a weigh-in for Brock Lesnar vs. Omos, a match that is not being contested in any specific weight class.
Back from commercial, Corey Graves, referee Danilo Anfibio, and Adam Pearce are in the ring with a scale for our weigh-in.
Montel Vontavious Porter gets on the mic to remind Brock Lesnar that he can’t conquer the Nigerian Giant. and Omos gets on the scale and weighs in at 410 pounds.
Brock makes his entrance and attacks him, but the Nigerian Giant sends him packing using the scale as a weapon.
We get a Charlotte Flair video package because why not?
Rhea Ripley is interviewed backstage.
She says she has to beat Charlotte Flair to prove that she’s the best and become the biggest star in the industry, and it comes down to Flair’s legacy against her destiny and she will not be stopped from becoming the new SmackDown Women’s Champion at WrestleMania.
We get babyface entrances for our next match and go to break.
Back from commercial, we get a Finn Balor promo from inside of Aleister Black’s old smokey room about his Hell in a Cell match against Edge at WrestleMania.
He says Edge should go to his dark place and do whatever he has to do to summon his demons, just know that his are always here and you just have to look closely. Of course the Demon paint flickers over him all ghostly throughout the promo.
Alpha Academy (Chad Gable & Otis Dozovic) & Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) vs. Braun Strowman, Ricochet, & Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford)
Gable and Dawkins to start, fast-paced lucha libre, trading arm drags, Ricochet in, Chad gets an arm drag but Rick overwhelms him and tags Strowman in, running double-teams! The match breaks down, big men left in the ring, Ivar and Otis and Braun staring down and we go to break!
Back from commercial, Erik is working Montez over, grinding him down with a chinlock. Quick tags, Otis gets some prime time and we see Maxxine Dupri watching backstage. Ford with a kick combo for separation but Dozer bowls him over! Dawkins with the hot tag, taking it to Ivar and laying him out with an uppercut!
Vikings stacking him up, Braun running around the ring like a freight train, big spinebuster on Erik! Ricochet up top, senton atomico off his shoulders, Montez Ford over the big man...
Braun Strowman, Ricochet, & Street Profits win by pinfall with a frog splash from Ford on Erik.
Backstage, Maxxine Dupri is still watching with a scowl on her face as Otis and Chad pal around in defeat.
Cody Rhodes is interviewed backstage.
He says he loves the position he’s in and lives for it. Solo Sikoa is undefeated, like he is, and you’d have to ask Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns if he even has a chance, and they’d cackle in their Samoan Goodfellas aesthetic, and then he’d ask why it’s so important that he face their enforcer.
And they’d say that it’s important to know that he’s earned it, and he has no intention of letting his fire go out because not only has he earned it, he’s lived it. And tonight, Solo finds out he’s not ready, and then at WrestleMania he’s gonna beat Roman and become the undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial we get a hype reel for Bianca Belair.
We get an Austin Theory promo from an empty arena filmed earlier today.
He accuses John Cena of not being able to see the future in front of his eyes and he says he does this for him, and it’s sad to know that he’d have let John go down the hero, but he had to make it personal. It’s gonna be fitting that he’s gonna look up to him, and that’s not a theory, because he’s gonna make Cena believe in him.
Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville make their entrance to send us to break.
Back from commercial, we get a media hype reel for Stacy Keibler joining the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame class.
Candice LeRae & “Michin” Mia Yim vs. Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville (WrestleMania Showcase Qualifying Match)
Yim and Deville to start, collar and elbow into the corner, Sonya breaks dirty with a shove! Off the ropes, Mia blasts her with a dropkick, big boot in the corner, Deville rolls away from a cannonball and passes her into the corner for a tag! Working Yim over, Mia gets a double neckbreaker for separation and the tag!
LeRae off the top, double crossbody, forearms to Green, duck a ripcord elbow, off the ropes with a lariat! Charging uppercut, snapmare, step-up senton, tag back to Yim! Rolling wheelbarrow splash, Sonya breaks it up! Inverted headlock elbow drop to Candice, Deville posing and Michin blasts her with a dropkick!
Waistlock, standing switch, Sonya with a forearm...
Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville win by pinfall with a Killswitch from Green on Mia Yim, qualifying for the WrestleMania Showcase.
Damian Priest makes his entrance, flanked by Dominik Mysterio.
Back from commercial, Paul Heyman is interviewed backstage.
He says Cody Rhodes walks through the shadow of the island of relevancy and fears no Tribal Chief, because Cody isn’t ready. He proved that when he asked why it was so important to fight Solo Sikoa six days before WrestleMania. It’s not important, it’s relevant, because Solo is ready to weaken Rhodes for his match against Roman Reigns.
Solo isn’t here to compete, he’s here to put a beating on Cody so he’s no 100% for Sunday, and if you’re sitting saying that’s not very dignified, well Roman is ready to stoop to depths and rise to occasions for any advantage that will keep him on top of the pile as Tribal Chief.
He says Cody was never ready to be the man of this generation and he’s not ready to beat Roman Reigns, but he needs to be ready to take the beating Sikoa’s gonna give him tonight and then the emotional baggage that Roman will dump on him on Friday, so that when he enters the ring on Sunday night, the only thing he’s gonna be ready for is to lose to Roman Reigns.
He tells Rhodes to be ready for the greatest moment of his entire existence, in the glory of his defeat, be ready to acknowledge his Tribal Chief.
In the ring, Dominik Mysterio gets on the mic.
He says it takes some kind of gall to hit your own child, and everybody’s seen the videos of Rey attacking him, and after Damian beats him tonight and Dom humiliates him at WrestleMania, everyone will know what a failure of a father he is. Mysterio demands to have the footage from SmackDown play, and it does.
Dom cuts an awful lot of promo in Spanish before asking what kind of father hits his own son and what kind of mother lets it happen, and says he should have told her to shut up a long time ago. He’s never said this out loud, but he wishes Eddy Guerrero was his real father and Rey never existed!
His entire family is a disgrace to the Mysterio name and that name will be his at WrestleMania.
Rey Mysterio makes his entrance and we go to break.
Damian Priest vs. Rey Mysterio
Match is joined in progress. Mysterio springboards, la casadora bulldog, diving seated senton off the top! Slide under, basement dropkick, legsweep, quebrada... NOPE! Priest with a reverse STO for two, Damian charges in with a boot but gets crotched in the ropes!
Axhandle to the back, off the ropes, Priest pops up and clobbers him with a lariat! Dropkick sets Damian up on the second and the 619 connects! Dominik runs in and trips his dad up...
Rey Mysterio wins by disqualification, presumably.
Post-match, Dom beats his dad down and then Damian picks him up so he can get some more licks in! LEGADO DEL FANTASMA MAKE THE SAVE!
We get an Andre the Giant video package to set up the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in Memory of Andre the Giant.
The Good Brothers are hanging out backstage with Johnny Gargano.
Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson find their names on the Andre list and leave. Elias and Rick Boogz look at the list and find their names, too, and the Drifter says he’s a lock to win this year. Elias turns around and runs into Dexter Lumis, and then turns around again and runs into Bronson Reed.
He turns around again and sees Bobby Lashley, who questions the notion that Elias is a lock to win.
Imperium make their entrance and we go to break.
Back from commercial we get a recap of Kevin Owens presenting Sami Zayn with his WrestleZaynia shirt and the two of them getting attacked by the Usos.
Kev and Sami cut a promo backstage.
Zayn says it’s been an emotional year and now, less than a week away from the biggest tag title match ever, and it’s even bigger because it’s in LA and there’s part of the story we don’t know. They got their big break in Los Angeles and truly became a team there, and now it all comes full circle and they walk back into LA as a team.
Owens says every fight they’ve been in has been about taking their careers to the next level, and it doesn’t get any bigger or better than taking down the longest-reigning tag title reign and showing the world that they’re the best tag team in the world.
Dolph Ziggler vs. GUNTHER
Ziggler in hard with dropkicks and right hands but GUNTHER chops him down to size with one big right hand! Scoop and put him up in the turnbuckles, another hamhock chop, climbing up top and scraping his boot against the side of Dolph’s head until he crashes to the floor and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Ziggler with forearms, a Fameasser, cover... NOPE! GUNTHER on the comeback, big powerbomb, drawing him back up...
GUNTHER wins by pinfall with the Last Symphony.
Post-match, GUNTHER gets on the mic.
He calls out Sheamus and Drew McIntyre and says their fight is a disgrace, but have a look, because this is the fate that awaits them at WrestleMania.
We get our main event entrances and go to break.
“American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa
Paul Heyman is at ringside.
Collar and elbow, Rhodes with a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block but Sikoa shrugs him off! Drop down slap gets a right hand, dropkick takes Solo off-balance, off the ropes, big Samoan drop cuts him off! Outside, Cody posts Sikoa’s injured knee into the steel! Beautiful Disaster reversed into a belly-to-belly suplex!
Out to the floor, Rhodes pummels him with right hands, off the ropes, suicide dive but Solo catches him and slams him into the announce desk and stands tall as we go to break!
Back from commercial, back suplex, Rhodes lands on his feet, jockeying for position over a suplex, into the corner, Solo clobbers him and the American Nightmare flops to the mat! Cody back on his feet, stomp the foot, gourdbuster connects. Snap scoop powerslam follows, Beautiful Disaster connects!
Inverted facelock... CROSS RHODES! Cody taking his sweet time on the cover... SOLO GETS A FOOT ON THE ROPES! Stomps in the middle of the ring, Cody goes up top, staring Paul
Heyman down... NOBODY HOME ON THE MOONSAULT! Solo with a headbutt, Cody ducks the Samoan Spike and hits a Cody Cutter!
The Usos make their entrance, referee Chad Patton warns them off and Solo hits a superkick, Spinning Solo... CODY KICKS OUT! The Usos up on the apron... KEVIN OWENS AND SAMI ZAYN MAKE THE SAVE! Fighting the Usos on the stage and to the back!
Back inside, Cody off the ropes, Beautiful Disaster caught, he ducks under, inverted headlock...
Cody Rhodes wins by pinfall with Cross Rhodes.
Post-match, Heyman gets on the phone while Cody jaws at him.
