WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JUNE 5

I been living on the edge of your life and you’ve been skirting around the edge of mine, from time to time. Tell me when to stop pretending, and I’ll liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you folks.

The show opens with Seth Rollins making his entrance.

He soaks in the audience singing his song for a beat before getting on the mic and welcoming us to Monday Night Rollins. One week as World Heavyweight Champion has been a nonstop party, but in the midst of it all, he was thinking to himself, when was the last time we had a world title defense on Raw?

It’s been nearly two years, and that’s too damn long. So he went on Twitter and put out an open challenge for tonight and Damian Priest answered. He’s psyched about because he’s said he wants all the fights and to fight the best, and love them or hate them, Judgment Day are as good as it gets.

He’s looking forward to be able to show us all that as good as they are, they just ain’t Seth Rollins.

Enter Finn Balor and Damian Priest.

Seth babbles at them asking where Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley are, and Priest says they have their own business to worry about, and Rollins should only be worrying about one person, and that’s him. Seth asks if they do everything together, up to and including asking if Finn holds Damian’s dick when he uses the toilet.

Balor mocks him for being loved and says he’s not going to love it when Damian wins the title from him tonight. Priest is honest, he thinks Seth is a deserving champion, and his resume speaks for itself, he’s beat basically everyone he’s ever been in the ring with... but so has he.

Damian says he’s gonna win, Seth says he doesn’t stand a chance if he’s by himself, so he asks Priest to put his money where his mouth is and agree to leave his crew in the back. Finn gets upset about it but Priest says he’s cool with it and he accepts the stipulation. Seth has a crack about no matter what his reign will be longer than Finn’s Universal Championship reign was and he scampers off.

Commentary hypes up the rest of the show.

Becky Lynch makes her entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Sonya Deville gets an inset promo about how she’s gonna win tonight and then cash Money in the Bank in successfully.

Becky Lynch vs. Sonya Deville (Money in the Bank Qualifying Match)

Lynch going hard early, distraction from Chelsea Green at ringside lets Deville turn the tide and lay kicks in in the corner! Snapmare, reverse chinlock, grinding Becky down. Lynch back in it, corner forearm, a kick, an exploder suplex, Sonya sidesteps a charge but eats a crossbody out of the corner!

Trish Stratus makes her entrance, flanked by Zoey Stark, standing switches in the distraction, inverted DDT from the Man gets a nearfall and we go to break.

Back from commercial, jockeying for position in the turnbuckles, Deville gets a superplex... NOPE! Trading forearms in the middle of the ring, Becky lights her up and a flying forearm takes her off her feet! Sonya to the floor, Lynch nails her with a baseball slide and throws her back inside!

Cheap shot from Chelsea Green, Deville with the knee... NOT ENOUGH! Back to striking, enzuigiri sends Sonya into the corner, pass Becky to the apron, she knocks Chelsea down and throws her into the barricade! Deville out to the floor and the Man lays her out too!

Back inside, Manhandle countered, schoolboy for two! Dis-Arm-Her blocked, Sonya slings her into the ropes, cover, feet on the ropes but Becky kicks out anyway! Catching Deville...

Becky Lynch wins by pinfall with the Manhandle Slam, qualifying for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial we get a recap of the ongoing breakup of the Bloodline.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are interviewed backstage.

Zayn won’t say “I told you so” but it’s nice to see the Usos do what they should have done months ago.

Imperium roll up to say they’re right that the Bloodline isn’t the problem anymore, because they’re going to be the problem. Kevin Owens gets upset about them breaking the unwritten rule again and GUNTHER steps up to to KO he needs to regain control of his temper and he lacks discipline.

The Ring General says he’ll teach him discipline, and Owens challenges him to a match right now!

Owens makes his entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial we get a hype reel for Katana Chance and Kayden Carter.

GUNTHER vs. Kevin Owens

Collar and elbow, fighting around the ring, GUNTHER gets a side headlock, Owens posts up and shoots him off, but the Ring General immediately grabs an armbar. KO gets the ropes and forces the break and slaps GUNTHER across the face! Side headlock of his own, shot off, shoulder block and more right hands!

Boot and a German suplex, Kev to the floor, he kicks and chops GUNTHER as he follows after but the Ring General turns him around and smashes him into the barricade! GUNTHER in control and we go to break!

Trading lariats, German suplexes, Owens gets a cannonball... SO CLOSE! Headlock takeover gets a shotgun dropkick, trading right hands again... KEVIN OWENS FISHERMAN BUSTER ALMOST DOES IT!

Up top, GUNTHER with a half-halch superplex... NOT ENOUGH! Dragging Kev into position, the Ring General off the top with a splash but KO got the knees up! Perching, senton atomico... GUNTHER WILL NOT STAY DOWN!

Giovanni Vinci runs interference, Ludwig Kaiser too, he eats a Stunner and the Ring General takes advantage of the distraction...

GUNTHER wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin.

Post-match, GUNTHER demands KO respect him and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of what we just saw because Raw is three hours long. (Three hours long.)

Matt Riddle is interviewed backstage.

He’s tired of seeing GUNTHER cheat week after week after week—

Imperium roll up and Ludwig Kaiser tells him to watch his mouth. Riddle asks what he’s gonna do about it, Kasier turns it around on him, they posture at each other and Matt knocks him over some road cases and grabs an ankle lock on Giovanni until road agents “Hurricane” Shane Helms and Kenn Doane pull him off!

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler are interviewed backstage.

They talk about how they manifested being tag champions over a decade ago, before they even stepped in the octagon, and it’s past time they legitimized the titles, and they invite any team with the balls to try and take them on.

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter roll up and introduce themselves and challenge the champs.

They accept the challenge for baptism by fire and say they’ll see the newbies in the ring.

Ronda and Shayna make their entrance and we go to break.

Katana Chance & Kayden Carter vs. Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler

Baszler and Carter to start, Shayna backs her into the corner and cuts her down before breaking clean. Collar and elbow, back into the corner, Kayden turns her around and kicks her leg out of her leg! O’Connor roll, kickout sets up a dropkick, tag to Chance!

Tripping Baszler up, slingshot senton atomico and Shayna runs off to tag Rousey in. Armbar in the ropes but Carter cuts her off with a superkick from the floor! Assisted plancha takes Baszler, Katana with a tornillo to Ronda but her arm is still hurting!

Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler win by submission with the Kirifuda Clutch from Baszler on Kayden Carter.

Ricochet is shadowboxing in Gorilla when Bronson Reed rolls up.

He complains about Ricochet being in Money in the Bank and not him, and Rick says he won his qualifier fair and square and what happened in Reed’s qualifier? That’s right, Shinsuke Nakamura ended his undefeated streak. Bronson says he dominated Shinsuke and Shinsuke appears to remind him he won.

Reed insists next time will be different and Ricochet gives him his props for beating Reed but tonight he’s not gonna give him anything but another L.

Ricochet makes his entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a Johnny Gargano hype reel.

Ricochet vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Arm drag for a headscissors, same in reverse, Ricochet ducks a roundhouse kick, tijeras connects, roll over, kick caught, elbow to the knee and a back elbow from Nakamura but Ricky dropkicks him to the floor! Off the ropes for a dive, Shinsuke cuts him off and goes to the second but gets knocked to the floor with an enzuigiri!

Space Flying Tiger Drop connects this time and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Nakamura with a knee and the inverted exploder but Ricochet lands on his feet! Handspring back elbow connects and both men are down and out! Ramming Shinsuke into the turnbuckles, shoulder block, smashing his face into the turnbuckles and laying a few kicks in!

Springboard lariat takes Nakamura off his feet, running shooting star press follows... NOPE! Enzuigiri sends him in the corner, Rick on the charge, Stinger Splash one connects but two misses and Shinsuke blasts him with a knee and Good Vibrations!

Setting him up, sliding German through the ropes, dropkick gets an enzuigiri and this time the inverted exploder connects, Shinsuke fired up but Ricochet counters with his own knee and hits Recoil! Slow to capitalize, but he’s fired up, the One and Only goes up top and the King of Strong Style meets him.

Trading punches, but Bronson Reed is here and referee Aja Perera calls it...

Shinsuke Nakamura wins by disqualification, presumably.

Post-match, Bronson scoops Ricochet up and splashes Nakamura with him on his back! Freight training Ricochet, Reed off the top with the 747 Splash!

We get a recap of Imperium beating Alpha Academy last week.

Alpha Academy are backstage chatting, Chad Gable and Maxxine Dupri disagree about how to pronounce Otis’ name, and he says tomato tomato. Gable says she has to remember one thing, that an Alpha doesn’t run from a fight. Dupri says she thought she could take Valhalla but then she got her face with her little outfit and she couldn’t take it.

Chad says he gave Otis some Viking literature to figure out what makes them tick,a and Dozer says they need some deodorant and for Gable to teach the pretty lady to take on the Viking lady. Gable says he can’t train her dressed like she is and she goes off to get “the perfect outfit” from her locker.

We see Cody Rhodes walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial we get some hype for the Undertaker’s one-man show in the UK.

The Miz welcomes us to MizTV with his usual patter and says he had to secure a very special guest for tonight’s show, and he gives Cody Rhodes a big introduction.

Cody makes his entrance to thunderous applause and Miz dancing like a fool.

The A-Lister says he looks dashing tonight and gets right to asking about Rhodes’ challenge to Brock Lesnar, reminding him that he broke his arm and beat him last time, and isn’t that kind of stupid? Cody says he jumped right in and calls him Mike, which gets Miz to tell him that in this ring, his name is the Miz, first name “the”, last name “Miz.”

Cody says he hasn’t heard stupid before now but people have told him it’s crazy and that it takes balls, which is something he knows Miz knows a tiny little bit about, because I guess we’re still on about Miz’s balls for whatever reason.

Miz says he has a surprise lined up in the shape of another man who has issues as a multigenerational talent, arguably the hottest superstar in all of WWE— Dominik Mysterio!

Dominik makes his entrance flanked by Rhea Ripley as usual.

Rhea tells Miz to be quiet and he submits immediately as she passes the mic to Dom. The crowd boos, Miz tells them to shut up, Cody mockingly tells them to stop booing, Rhea tells them to shut up, and Mysterio starts anyway, talking about how someone like him who’s done hard time sees Cody as a little birdie with a broken wing.

Dominik tells Cody he’s just another deadbeat dad and Rhodes says he’s got a lot of empathy for him and his fifteen minutes in prison and he even has a worse prison tattoo than his. He says the match he had against his dad at WrestleMania was more of a public spanking but he’s right, nobody’s perfect!

He knows Rey has made some terrible mistakes as a father because he’s looking at one right now.

Judgment Day make to leave but Dominik slips back in and slaps Rhodes across the face! He hides behind Rhea Ripley and they slink out the aisle, Rhea telling Cody he’s nothing, just like his dad. Rhodes turns around and takes his ire out on the Miz, cracking his cast across his face and knocking him out cold!

Cody starts to give chase but with Mysterio hiding firmly behind Ripley he stops on the steel steps.

We get a recap of our opening segment because Raw is three hours long. (Three hours long.)

We see Damian Priest shadowboxing backstage.

Trish Stratus makes her entrance, heralding Zoey Stark and the break.

Natalya vs. Zoey Stark (Money in the Bank Qualifying Match)

Nattie with a cover for two, side headlock, shot off, up and over, Zoey with a kick to cut her off!

Leg pick, Natalya reverses, Stark with a headlock, shot off, shoulder block, trading strikes, Neidhart’s knee bothering her but she gets off an uppercut! Duck a lariat, German suplex, jackknife pin for two and shifting into the Sharpshooter off the kickout!

Stark screaming agony, she gets to the floor but Trish Stratus gets a cheap shot when Nattie goes after her...

Zoey Stark wins by pinfall with Z360, qualifying for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Backstage, Paul Heyman cuts a promo inviting us to join him on Friday night to see a family drama play out before our eyes when Jey Uso makes his historic choice. As the Wiseman he’s tasked with issuing unpleasant news, even to our Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, and this is one of those times.

The news is not pleasant, the news will rip apart the entire Anoa’i-Fatu dynasty, because Jey Uso will make his choice and he will choose and stand by his brother... Solo Sikoa. You can share a womb with your twin, Jimmy, but you’ll never be closer in life to him than you are to your Tribal Chief, and on Friday, Jey will acknowledge that fact.

...or else.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial we get some hype for tonight’s Raw Talk.

We’re set for Hurt Business vs. Indus Sher but Veer Mahaan blasts Cedric Alexander with a lariat out the gates, hoisting him up for Demolition Decapitation and leaving him gasping while they pose!

Headed up top, frog splash, nobody home! Priest with a kick, back elbow, Rollins meets him with a front kick on a second, underhooks, reversed, reversed, only two! Sling Blade connects, Seth is feeling it and goes for a dive but Damian reverse STOs him into the announce desk and we go to break!

Back from commercial, a lot of jockeying for position in the turnbuckles ends with the superplex into the Falcon Arrow with Rollins having to block Broken Arrow in the middle! Priest to the floor, Seth dives on him, back inside and again, back inside, frog splash... NOT ENOUGH!

Rollins goes for the rolling elbow, Priest cuts him off with an elbow of his own, kicks connect, rolling elbow, Damian gets a headlock driver... SO CLOSE! South of Heaven blocked, trading shots, boot up in the corner, Cyclone Kill staggers Rollins up in the turnbuckles! Avalanche Frankensteiner... SETH ROLLINS WON’T STAY DOWN!

Arm-trap lariats from the Punishment of the Judgment Day, Seth floats over a lariat, Pedigree connects! Slow to capitalize, crawling, one-arm pin... DAMIAN KICKS OUT! To the floor, Seth powerbombs Priest into the barricade! Superkick takes Finn Balor out when he runs in after but Damian levels him with a lariat!

South of Heaven connects but Priest is slow to the cover... ROLLINS KICKS OUT! Death Blow sets him up...

Seth Rollins wins by pinfall with Blackout, retaining the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Post-match, Finn Balor appears in the ring to square up with Rollins.

Seth waves to him.

That’s the show, folks.
